Open Letter to Council

I find myself deep in reflection as I prepare for our final Regular Meeting of Council this term. What I’ve learned about our community (and myself) over these past four years is both rich and nuanced. I've learnt that accountability as an elected official is not measured through motions or tri-annual reports BUT rather through quiet conversations on doorsteps, in coffee shops, and around kitchen tables. Trust and authenticity are not abstract ideals here in Morinville. They are the compass by which I’ve tried to lead; showing up with honesty, acknowledging what I don’t know, and learning from the insights of others. The strength of our Council, the dedication of staff & Administration and the daily efforts of community volunteers are all grounded in the same foundational principle—that our decisions are strongest when they rise from genuine conversations, open doors, and transparent intentions. It's been an honour to serve alongside each of you!
