The issues that inspire me to run for Morinville Council…

1. Revitalize Downtown
Revitalizing the Coeur de Morinville is key to building a vibrant, welcoming, and resilient community. By investing in critical infrastructure and intentional streetscapes, we will strengthen the heart of our town for today and tomorrow.
1.1 Accelerate investment in sewers, sidewalks, boulevards, and roads downtown.
1.2 Create streetscapes that both honour heritage and reflect Morinville’s evolving identity.
1.3 Strengthen the Coeur de Morinville as a hub for business, culture, and community life.
1.4 Guided by the Municipal Development Plan (MDP) to ensure intentional, future-focused growth.

2. Expand Outdoor Recreation
Parks and recreation are not extras — they are essential investments in wellness, family life, and community connection. We must expand four-season opportunities that keep residents active and bring neighbourhoods together.
2.1 Invest in four-season recreation spaces for residents of all ages.
2.2 Enhance trail system connectivity — safer, easier links between neighbourhoods.
2.3 Create family-friendly gathering spaces that encourage outdoor activity year-round.
2.4 Revisit the pump-track discussion to expand youth and family recreation.
2.5 Launch a Temporary Outdoor Rink Program to encourage winter play.

3. Foster Community Spirit
Morinville’s identity is built on tradition, celebration, and connection. By bringing back community-led initiatives and creating more opportunities to gather, we will rekindle pride and strengthen the bonds that make us unique.
3.1 Rekindle traditions and celebrations that once defined Morinville.
3.2 Provide more opportunities for neighbours to gather, connect, and celebrate.
3.3 Develop a Community League concept to empower grassroots leadership.
3.4 Bring back the Summer Parade as a signature community event.
3.5 Strengthen belonging, pride, and social connection for all residents.

4. Guide Responsible Growth
Growth must be guided with foresight and balance. By investing in infrastructure, supporting housing diversity, and protecting our environment, we will ensure Morinville grows sustainably while preserving what makes our community special.
4.1 Ensure infrastructure readiness — roads, boulevards, utilities, and amenities that support density.
4.2 Expand greenspaces and protect natural areas.
4.3 Advance EV readiness and embed sustainability in planning decisions.
4.4 Promote diverse housing options to meet the needs of all residents.
4.5 Create walkable, inclusive neighbourhoods that bring people together.
4.6 Align growth with the Municipal Development Plan (MDP) to strengthen, not strain, our community.
